The Mecosta County Planning Commission meeting that was scheduled for tomorrow, May 1st, to deal with the PRC-based and CCP-tied @Gotion48660 site plan zoning and the related permitting process has been CANCELLED!!!
Mecosta County attorneys wisely counseled the Planning Commission to stand down because Green Charter Township now has the rightful Constitutional authority to control their zoning through its own Planning Commission.
A significant defeat for Gotion.
This further imperils the @GovWhitmer @MEDC @QuentinMesserJr @rthelen (The Right Place) @FerrisState (Pres. Bill Pink), and some in the Michigan Legislature,-led fast moving and secretive "deal" with Gotion. Government and business elites defied the warnings of our national security and intelligence agencies to perform due diligence.
Gotion's options are narrowing quickly.

Land: Michigan should reject ranked choice voting

In Michigan, we believe in a simple, fair principle: one person, one vote. Period. Every eligible voter gets a single vote, which is counted equally. The highest vote-getter is declared the winner. This process is straightforward, trusted and it is the backbone of our democracy.
Ranked-choice voting (RCV) threatens to unravel that clarity.
Under RCV, voters rank candidates in order of preference. If no candidate wins more than 50% of the vote in the first round, the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated. Ballots that ranked that eliminated candidate as their first choice are then redistributed to whichever candidate is marked as the voter’s next choice. The process repeats until a candidate crosses the 50% threshold.
